You've submitted the test, torn up your scrap paper on camera, and logged out. Now what? Results logistics generate a surprising share of OMPT panic — especially for students racing an admission deadline.

How long do OMPT results take?

The standard turnaround is within eight business days, counted from the day after you submit — and business days exclude weekends and Dutch public holidays. That last detail matters: a test taken just before a holiday weekend can land later than you'd naively count. Your result arrives as a digital certificate that includes per-topic scores, not just a total.

Is fast grading worth €120?

Fast grading cuts the wait to within four business days, for about €120 per attempt — and you can buy it after taking the test. The honest calculus: if your results deadline is more than two weeks after your test date, standard grading almost always suffices. If you're inside that window — say, testing in late July for a 1 August deadline — fast grading stops being optional. The cheaper strategy is upstream: test early enough that you never have to pay for speed, and leave room for a possible retake.

How your university actually gets your score

This is the step that confuses the most people. Universities verify results through the official admission portal, and accounts connected to a university can report results automatically — but many programmes still require you to upload or email the certificate yourself as part of your application. Do both sides of the handshake: send the certificate the way your programme asks, and don't assume the automatic connection replaces it. How long does a score stay valid?
