When to take the OMPT for a Kaunas University of Technology application

OMPT results arrive within 8 business days and a test slot has to be booked at least 72 hours in advance, so the last safe test date is about 12 calendar days before the application deadline. If you want one retake in reserve, sit the first attempt about 38 days before the deadline. Most programmes allow up to three attempts, each at the full fee, but some count only the first attempt, so confirm the rule on the programme page linked in the table.

Each attempt costs €240 (OMPT-A, B, C, E, G) or €270 (OMPT-D, F). A full-length timed mock before the first paid attempt shows whether you are already above the minimum score. How to book the OMPT, step by step.

Kaunas University of Technology OMPT requirements explained

Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) in Lithuania requires OMPT-A or OMPT-D at a minimum score of 75% from undergraduate and postgraduate applicants holding certain third-country qualifications. The test must be taken by 1 April of the application year, results are valid for at most two years, and a maximum of two attempts is counted. Examify verified this on the official KTU academic recognition page on 23 July 2026.

Kaunas University of Technology OMPT requirements by programme

KTU publishes the rule at institution level, so there is one row rather than a programme list.

ProgrammeFaculty/campusOMPT moduleMinimum scoreAttempt rule / notes
Undergraduate and postgraduate studies (holders of certain third-country qualifications)University-wide, KaunasOMPT-A or OMPT-D75%Must be taken by 1 April of the application year; results valid at most 2 years; maximum 2 attempts counted (source)

The pattern is unusual in two ways. First, the requirement is tied to the applicant's qualification, not to the degree they apply for: a holder of a covered third-country qualification needs the certificate whether the target is a bachelor or a master. Second, the page names two modules of very different size, OMPT-A and OMPT-D, at the same 75% threshold. It does not say which module applies to which applicant, so confirm that with KTU admissions before you book, because the two exams need different preparation.

The page we verified does not list SAT, ACT, CCVX or Boswell-Bèta as alternatives for this group, and it does not publish a per-programme breakdown. The 1 April cut-off is the test date, not the application deadline; KTU's application dates are published separately and are not covered here. Examify is independent and not affiliated with the OMPT, SOWISO or any university.

Which OMPT module Kaunas University of Technology uses and what it looks like

KTU accepts two modules. OMPT-A is the standard economics-level module; OMPT-D is the full science module.

OMPT-A covers Numbers, Algebra, Linear formulas and equations, Systems of linear equations, Quadratic equations, Functions, Exponential functions and logarithms, and Differentiation. Functions and Differentiation alone hold 69 of the 176 topics. The chapter-by-chapter list is on Examify's OMPT-A syllabus page.

OMPT-D

OMPT-D contains all eight OMPT-A chapters plus Trigonometry, Geometry and Integration. With 21 questions over 242 topics, each question chains several skills, which is why the provider gives more than four times the time per question. Chapter list: OMPT-D syllabus.

Kaunas University of Technology OMPT minimum score in context

75% is at the top of the range. Most programmes that accept the OMPT set their threshold between 60% and 75%: Radboud University asks 55% on OMPT-D, Erasmus School of Economics asks 70% on OMPT-A for IBEB and counts only the first attempt, Tilburg University asks 70% with a maximum of two attempts, and Maastricht School of Business and Economics asks 75% on OMPT-A, the same figure as KTU.

The attempt rule places KTU next to Tilburg: two attempts, not three. In raw numbers, 75% on OMPT-A means 39 correct answers out of 52, so you can miss 13; on OMPT-D it means 16 out of 21, so you can miss 5. Mock scores move 5 to 10 points between sittings and the real exam adds a proctor, ID check and room scan, so aim for 85 to 90% on your last mock before you book. A comparison of thresholds across universities is in OMPT passing scores.

How to prepare for the Kaunas University of Technology OMPT test

The provider's estimate is about 80 hours for OMPT-A and about 120 hours for OMPT-D. Work from that budget and from your diagnostic, not from chapter 1.

  1. Confirm the module with KTU admissions first. Preparing for OMPT-A and then being asked for OMPT-D costs three extra chapters and about 40 hours.
  2. Sit a full-length timed diagnostic mock before you study: 52 questions in 120 minutes for OMPT-A, 21 in 180 for OMPT-D. Examify's free OMPT practice test shows the answer box format; the OMPT-A generation-1 mock or OMPT-D generation-1 mock has the real length.
  3. Score the mock per chapter and rank the chapters from weakest to strongest. Chapters below 70% get the hours; chapters above 85% get a timed sweep in the final week.
  4. Practise in the answer format from day one. The OMPT grades typed final answers with a computer algebra system, so an ambiguous answer scores nothing even when the method is right.
  5. From the second week, time every set at the module's pace: 2.3 minutes per question for OMPT-A, 8.6 for OMPT-D.
  6. Sit a second full-length mock about two weeks in and a third before booking. Book only when the third mock is at 85% or higher, because KTU counts just two attempts.

For the calendar arithmetic behind those hours, read how long does OMPT preparation take. See also improve your OMPT score in 30 days and how hard is the OMPT.

Booking, deadlines and results for Kaunas University of Technology applicants

A slot has to be booked at least 72 hours in advance. Each attempt is bought separately: €240 for OMPT-A, €270 for OMPT-D. Results arrive within 8 business days, which is 10 to 12 calendar days depending on the weekday, so the last safe test date sits about 12 calendar days before the date you need the certificate. With one retake in reserve (results, two weeks to fix weak chapters, rebook, results again) count back 38 days.

For KTU the fixed date is the 1 April test cut-off: the exam itself has to be taken by then. Leaving a retake in reserve means a first attempt by about 20 February. KTU's own application deadlines are published on its admissions pages and are not repeated here. Booking steps, ID rules and the proctoring setup are in how to book the OMPT; the requirement and source link are also on the Kaunas University of Technology page.

{name} OMPT: frequently asked questions

Which OMPT module does Kaunas University of Technology require?
Kaunas University of Technology lists 1 programme with an OMPT requirement, using OMPT-A, OMPT-D. The most common requirement is OMPT-A or OMPT-D, asked for by 1 programme. The exact module for each programme is in the table above, sourced from the university's own admission page.
What is the minimum OMPT score for Kaunas University of Technology?
Every Kaunas University of Technology programme listed here requires at least 75% on the OMPT. The score is set by the programme, not by the test provider, and can change between admission cycles.
How do I prepare for the Kaunas University of Technology OMPT test?
Start with a full-length timed mock of the module your programme requires (OMPT-A, OMPT-D) to find your weak chapters, then work through those chapters on the syllabus page. Examify builds independent practice tests for every OMPT module; it is not affiliated with the official test provider.
How many OMPT attempts does Kaunas University of Technology allow?
KTU counts a maximum of two attempts. The page also states that results are valid for at most two years and that the test must be taken by 1 April of the application year. With two attempts and a fixed cut-off, a first attempt in late March leaves no room for a retake, so the first sitting should already come after a mock at 85% or higher.
Does Kaunas University of Technology accept alternatives to the OMPT?
The KTU academic recognition page we verified lists OMPT-A or OMPT-D with the 75% threshold and does not name SAT, ACT, CCVX or another mathematics certificate as a substitute for this group of applicants. If you hold a qualification from a country that is not covered by this rule, the requirement may not apply to you at all; check the page or ask KTU admissions.
How long should I prepare for the Kaunas University of Technology OMPT test?
The test provider estimates about 80 hours for OMPT-A and 120 hours for OMPT-D. A timed diagnostic mock shows how much of that you can skip. Because KTU asks 75% and counts only two attempts, plan to reach 85 to 90% on a full-length mock before booking, and give yourself at least 38 days before 1 April so a retake still fits.
Which applicants does the KTU OMPT rule apply to?
KTU applies the requirement to undergraduate and postgraduate applicants holding certain third-country qualifications, not to every international student. The academic recognition page defines the group. Applicants with qualifications outside that group follow the ordinary admission route and do not need an OMPT certificate.
