Nyenrode Business Universiteit Math Entrance Exam (OMPT)

Nyenrode Business Universiteit requires OMPT-A with a minimum score of 75% for its full-time Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Breukelen, and allows a maximum of two attempts. A Boswell-Beta exam or a Korteweg-de Vries exam is accepted instead. Examify verified this on the official programme page on 23 July 2026. Nyenrode Business Universiteit OMPT requirements by programme

Nyenrode lists one bachelor programme with an OMPT requirement.

Two things on this row deserve attention. The 75% threshold is at the top end of what business programmes ask, and the two-attempt cap means a weak first sitting costs half of your allowance. The programme page also separates two questions that applicants tend to merge: passing the maths requirement satisfies the prerequisite, but admission to the BScBA is decided by the wider selection process. A 75% OMPT-A result is one item in the file, not a decision.

The two alternatives are written exams. If you live abroad or need a flexible date, the OMPT is the route you can book online at 72 hours' notice; the Boswell-Beta and Korteweg-de Vries routes run on fixed dates set by their organisers. Nyenrode's page does not publish a validity period for the OMPT result, so ask admissions if your test date sits far ahead of your application.

Which OMPT module Nyenrode uses and what it looks like

Nyenrode uses OMPT-A only. The figures below come from the official OMPT-A syllabus.

The eight chapters are Numbers, Algebra, Linear formulas and equations, Systems of linear equations, Quadratic equations, Functions, Exponential functions and logarithms, and Differentiation. Functions (35 topics) and Differentiation (34 topics) hold 69 of the 176 topics, about 40% of the syllabus, while Numbers (17), Linear formulas and equations (17) and Systems of linear equations (10) are small chapters most applicants already half know. Answers are typed into an on-screen input and graded on the final answer, so the input format is worth practising in advance. The full chapter list is on the OMPT-A syllabus page.

Nyenrode OMPT minimum score in context

75% is the highest common threshold for OMPT-A. Most programmes set their minimum between 60% and 75%, and Nyenrode sits on the top line of that range together with Maastricht School of Business and Economics (75% on OMPT-A). Erasmus School of Economics asks IBEB applicants for 70% and counts the first attempt only. Tilburg University asks 70% and allows two attempts. Radboud University asks 55% on OMPT-D for its science programmes. In raw numbers, 75% on OMPT-A is about 39 correct answers out of 52, against 37 for 70% and 31 for 60%.

The test provider reports that students who worked through its learning materials scored 76% on average on their first attempt, and students who did not scored 40%. A prepared average therefore only just clears Nyenrode's bar, which is why we suggest a mock score 10 to 15 points above the threshold, so 85 to 90%, before you book. How to prepare for the Nyenrode OMPT test

The test provider's estimate is about 80 hours for OMPT-A. Where those hours go depends on a diagnostic, and with only two official attempts the diagnostic must not be the real exam.

1. Sit a full-length timed mock before studying anything: 52 questions, 120 minutes, answers typed. 2. Score the mock per chapter and rank the eight chapters from weakest to strongest. Starting around 65%, you can usually drop Numbers, Linear formulas and Systems of linear equations and finish in 60 to 65 hours. Starting around 40%, plan 90 to 100 hours and give Algebra and Quadratic equations extra time before Differentiation.
3. Give Functions and Differentiation the largest block, roughly 32 of the 80 hours, since they carry 40% of the topics.
4. Practise the answer format from week one. A correct method with a mistyped final answer scores nothing, and at a 75% bar you have 13 wrong answers to spend in total.
5. From the second week, run every drill set against a timer at 2.3 minutes per question, and at 2 minutes in the last ten days if your pace is the problem.
6. Sit a second full-length mock at the halfway point and a third a few days before the booking decision. If the third mock is more than 10 points under 85%, move the exam rather than spend one of two attempts.

Booking, deadlines and results for Nyenrode applicants

An OMPT-A attempt costs €240 and is bought separately each time, so two attempts cost €480. The slot has to be booked at least 72 hours in advance and the exam runs online with a live proctor. Results and the digital certificate arrive within 8 business days, which is 10 to 12 calendar days depending on the weekday.

That fixes the calendar. With one attempt and no buffer, the last safe test date is about 12 calendar days before Nyenrode's application deadline. With the second attempt in reserve, count back 38 days: 12 for results, 14 to fix weak chapters and rebook, 12 for the second result.
