When to take the OMPT for a Turku University of Applied Sciences application

OMPT results arrive within 8 business days and a test slot has to be booked at least 72 hours in advance, so the last safe test date is about 12 calendar days before the application deadline. If you want one retake in reserve, sit the first attempt about 38 days before the deadline. Most programmes allow up to three attempts, each at the full fee, but some count only the first attempt, so confirm the rule on the programme page linked in the table.

Each attempt costs €240 (OMPT-A, B, C, E, G) or €270 (OMPT-D, F). A full-length timed mock before the first paid attempt shows whether you are already above the minimum score. How to book the OMPT, step by step.

Turku University of Applied Sciences OMPT requirements explained

Turku University of Applied Sciences accepts any OMPT test with a minimum score of 55% for eight bachelor programmes in its separate application route, from Business Administration to Mechanical Engineering. The official page names no module and publishes no attempt limit; the SAT (400 in both sections) is the alternative. Examify verified this on the official page on 23 July 2026.

Turku University of Applied Sciences OMPT requirements by programme

Turku UAS (Turku AMK in Finnish) lists the OMPT once, for the whole separate application route, and the same rule applies to every programme in it. The table repeats that single rule per programme so you can find yours.

The pattern is unusual. Most universities tie a module letter to a faculty: an economics school asks for OMPT-A, a computer science department for OMPT-D. Turku UAS does not. Its page says all OMPT tests are accepted at 55% or higher, and the business and engineering programmes share that one line. The only alternative on the page is the SAT with at least 400 in each section. There is no CCVX, Boswell-Bèta or on-site exam route, and no validity period for the OMPT certificate is stated.

Two things are therefore not published: which of the seven modules the university expects, and how many attempts it counts. Do not fill those gaps by copying a rule from another university. Write to Turku UAS admissions, ask both questions for your specific programme, and keep the reply. Examify is independent and not affiliated with the OMPT, SOWISO or any university.

Which OMPT module Turku University of Applied Sciences uses and what it looks like

The official Turku UAS page does not specify a module, so there is no per-module format table for this university. The OMPT comes in seven modules, OMPT-A to OMPT-G, and they differ a lot: OMPT-C is 30 questions of basic algebra in 120 minutes with about 40 hours of suggested preparation, OMPT-A is 52 questions in 120 minutes over 8 chapters with about 80 hours, and OMPT-D is 21 multi-step calculus questions in 180 minutes over 11 chapters with about 120 hours. Because the module fixes the syllabus, the time limit and the fee, confirm it with admissions before you choose a study plan; the chapter lists for every module are on the syllabus overview.

If admissions confirm that any module is accepted, the practical choice for a business applicant is usually OMPT-A (OMPT-A syllabus), and for an engineering applicant OMPT-A or OMPT-D (OMPT-D syllabus), but that is a preparation decision on your side, not a rule from the university.

Turku University of Applied Sciences OMPT minimum score in context

55% is at the low end of what OMPT partner programmes ask. Most set their threshold between 60% and 75%. Erasmus School of Economics asks IBEB applicants for 70% on OMPT-A and counts only the first attempt. Maastricht's School of Business and Economics asks 75%. Tilburg University asks 70% with a maximum of two attempts. Radboud University sits where Turku does, at 55% on OMPT-D for its science bachelors. On OMPT-A, 55% is about 29 correct answers out of 52; on OMPT-D it means you can lose 9 of 21 questions and still pass.

A low bar is not a reason to arrive with a thin margin. Mock scores move 5 to 10 points between sittings, the real exam adds a proctor and an ID check, and answers are graded by a computer algebra system with no partial credit. Aim for 65 to 70% on your last mock, 10 to 15 points above the threshold, before you book. The full comparison of thresholds is on OMPT passing scores.

How to prepare for the Turku University of Applied Sciences OMPT test

The plan below works for whichever module admissions confirm. The hours come from the test provider's own estimates: about 40 for OMPT-C, 80 for OMPT-A and OMPT-F, 100 for OMPT-B, 120 for OMPT-D, OMPT-E and OMPT-G. A diagnostic usually cuts those numbers.

  1. Get the module in writing from Turku UAS admissions first. Studying 80 hours for OMPT-A and then learning that the programme expects OMPT-D costs you the Trigonometry, Geometry and Integration chapters and three weeks.
  2. Sit a full-length diagnostic mock under exam conditions, at your module's real question count and time limit. Examify's free OMPT practice test shows two of the harder questions per module in the real answer box; the paid generation-1 mock, for example OMPT-A gen 1, matches the real paper in length and timing.
  3. Score the mock per chapter and rank the chapters from weakest to strongest. Chapters under about 70% get the hours; the strong ones get a timed sweep in the final week. How that ranking turns into weeks is in how long OMPT preparation takes.
  4. Practise the answer format from day one. A correct method with an ambiguous final answer scores nothing, so learn the fraction, root and power input before you drill.
  5. From week two, time every set at your module's pace: about 2.3 minutes per question on OMPT-A, 4 on OMPT-C, 3 on OMPT-E, 8.6 on OMPT-D and OMPT-F. A day-by-day version is in improve your OMPT score in 30 days.
  6. Sit a second full mock in the final week and book only when it lands at 65% or higher. If it does not, move the date rather than spend an attempt. For what the real paper feels like, read how hard is the OMPT.

Booking, deadlines and results for Turku University of Applied Sciences applicants

A slot must be booked at least 72 hours in advance. Each attempt is bought separately: €240 for OMPT-A, OMPT-B, OMPT-C, OMPT-E and OMPT-G, €270 for OMPT-D and OMPT-F. Results and the digital certificate arrive within 8 business days, which is 10 to 12 calendar days depending on the weekday.

Turku UAS describes the separate application route as rolling admission, and this post does not state a deadline; take the date that applies to your intake from the Turku UAS page or the official guide for applicants and count back from it. One attempt with no buffer means a test date about 12 calendar days before your deadline. With one retake in reserve, plan the first sitting about 38 days before: 12 days for results, 14 to fix weak chapters and rebook, 12 for the second result. Since the attempt rule is not published, confirm with admissions that a second result would be accepted before you rely on that buffer. Booking steps and the proctoring checklist are in how to book the OMPT.
