OMPT-E generation 2: one step below exam level
Generation 2 is the middle OMPT-E set, one step below exam level. The statistics chapters are as prominent as ever, but the wording gives more away. A question will mention that the trials are independent rather than leaving you to notice it.
The complete generation 2 paper: 40 questions, two hours, full solutions. Coverage runs across the 161 OMPT-E topics, with the probability chapters carrying about as much weight as the algebra. Recommended solving order: 1 → 2 → 3.
Who generation 2 is for
The right set once you have read through descriptive statistics, probability, combinatorics, random variables and the standard distributions at least once and want to know how much of it you can use under time. Economics and social science applicants usually find the algebra half comfortable and the probability half less so.
How to work through generation 2
Keep to 120 minutes. Then rework every probability question you missed from scratch, without looking at your first attempt, because with combinatorics it is easy to repair a wrong count and still not see why the count was wrong. OMPT-E is reckoned at roughly 120 study hours, and most of them belong to this half of the syllabus.

Is there a OMPT-E exam PDF to download?
There is no download. You work OMPT-E generation 2 in your Exam.ify account, and the combinatorics solutions in particular are easier to follow there, where the working sits directly under the question you attempted.
Is generation 2 of OMPT-E as hard as the real exam?
A step below the real exam. Generation 2 sits under generation 3, the exam-level OMPT-E set. The mathematics is the same. What changes is how much the question tells you about the situation before you have to model it.
What kind of questions are on the OMPT-E test?
The question types split between algebra and statistics: rearrangements and functions on one side, counting problems, distributions and expected values on the other. Generation 2 names the conditions in the wording. OMPT-E has three generations; its syllabus page lists the chapters.
