Radboud University Math Entrance Exam (OMPT)

Radboud University requires 55% on the OMPT for seven bachelor programmes, with the module set by faculty: OMPT-D for the science bachelors, OMPT-E or OMPT-C for Psychology, OMPT-A or OMPT-F for Economics and Business Economics. Biology asks 60 to 65% on OMPT-A. No attempt limit is published. Examify verified this on the official admission pages on 23 July 2026.

Radboud University OMPT requirements by programme

No programme publishes an attempt rule. The pattern is by faculty. The Faculty of Science asks for OMPT-D, the full 11-chapter module with calculus and integration, and accepts Boswell-Bèta or CCVX in its place. The Faculty of Social Sciences and the Nijmegen School of Management accept two modules each and add the SAT (at least 600 out of 800 in mathematics) to the list of alternatives. Artificial Intelligence sits between the two faculties and takes either OMPT-E or OMPT-D.

Two things are unusual. The threshold is 55% almost everywhere, with Biology the only programme that raises it (60 to 65% on OMPT-A, depending on diploma origin). And none of the seven pages publishes an attempt limit or a validity period. That is not the same as "unlimited attempts"; the rule is simply not on the page, so ask admissions before you rely on a resit. Which OMPT module Radboud University uses and what it looks like

Radboud uses five of the seven modules. Format facts are from the official syllabus pages on omptest.org.

OMPT-D is the module for Mathematics, Computing Science, Molecular Life Sciences and, as one of two options, Artificial Intelligence and Biology. Its chapters run from Numbers, Algebra, Linear formulas and equations, Systems of linear equations and Quadratic equations through Functions, Exponential functions and logarithms and Differentiation, then add Trigonometry, Geometry and Integration. OMPT-E is accepted for Psychology and Artificial Intelligence. It has no Differentiation chapter; instead the seven algebra and functions chapters (Numbers through Exponential and logarithmic functions) are followed by Descriptive statistics, Probability, Combinatorics, Random variables and Common probability distributions. OMPT-C is the second option for Psychology and by far the smallest module: Numbers, Algebra, Linear formulas and equations and Geometry. For Psychology applicants whose maths stops at basic algebra, it is the module to check first. Chapter list: OMPT-C syllabus.

OMPT-A is accepted for Economics and Business Economics and, at 60 to 65%, for Biology. Its 8 chapters are the first 8 chapters of OMPT-D: Numbers, Algebra, Linear formulas and equations, Systems of linear equations, Quadratic equations, Functions, Exponential functions and logarithms and Differentiation. OMPT-F is the alternative to OMPT-A for Economics and Business Economics. It drops Numbers and Systems of linear equations and goes deeper on Algebra, Linear formulas and equations, Quadratic equations, Functions, Exponential functions and logarithms and Differentiation, with 21 long questions instead of 52 short ones. Radboud University OMPT minimum score in context

Radboud's 55% sits below the 60 to 75% range most programmes use. Erasmus School of Economics asks IBEB applicants for 70% on OMPT-A and counts the first attempt only. Maastricht School of Business and Economics asks 75%. Tilburg University asks 70% with a maximum of two attempts. Against those, 55% on OMPT-D at Radboud means you can lose 9 of 21 questions and still pass, and 55% on OMPT-A means about 29 correct answers out of 52.

A low bar does not make a thin margin safe. Mock scores move 5 to 10 points between sittings, and the real exam adds a proctor and answers graded by a computer algebra system with no partial credit. How to prepare for the Radboud University OMPT test

The plan below uses the test provider's hour estimates: about 120 hours for OMPT-D or OMPT-E, 80 for OMPT-A or OMPT-F, 40 for OMPT-C. A diagnostic usually cuts those numbers.

1. Pick the module before you study. If your programme accepts two, sit a short timed set from each and choose the one where your gaps are smallest, not the one with the shorter syllabus.
2. Sit a full-length diagnostic mock under exam conditions: 21 questions in 180 minutes for OMPT-D or OMPT-F, 40 in 120 for OMPT-E, 52 in 120 for OMPT-A, 30 in 120 for OMPT-C. 3. Score the mock per chapter and rank the chapters. Chapters below about 70% get the hours; the rest get a timed sweep in the last week. 4. Practise the answer format from week one: a correct method with an ambiguous final answer scores nothing.
5. From week two, time every set at your module's pace: 8.6 minutes per question on OMPT-D and OMPT-F, 3 on OMPT-E, 4 on OMPT-C, 2.3 on OMPT-A. A 30-day version of this schedule is in improve your OMPT score in 30 days.

Booking, deadlines and results for Radboud University applicants

A slot must be booked at least 72 hours in advance. Each attempt is bought separately: €240 for OMPT-A, OMPT-C and OMPT-E, €270 for OMPT-D and OMPT-F. Results and the digital certificate arrive within 8 business days, which is 10 to 12 calendar days depending on the weekday.

Take the application deadline for your programme from the Radboud University page or the programme's admission page and count back from it. One attempt with no buffer means a test date about 12 calendar days before the deadline. With one retake in reserve, plan the first sitting about 38 days before: 12 days for results, 14 to fix weak chapters and rebook, 12 for the second result.
