OMPT-F generation 2: one step below exam level
Generation 2 is the middle OMPT-F set, a rung under exam level. Same 21 questions and same three hours, but the layers are thinner. Where generation 3 would ask you to differentiate a function you first have to rewrite, this one hands you the form you need.
Generation 2 complete: 21 questions with a 180-minute allowance and worked solutions throughout. Coverage is the six OMPT-F chapters, from algebra up to derivatives. Recommended solving order: 1 → 2 → 3.
Who generation 2 is for
Sensible once the six chapters are covered and you want to know whether your technique holds at length rather than in exercises. Applicants coming from an OMPT-A or OMPT-B background often find the content familiar and the sustained depth new.
How to work through generation 2
Time it, then measure yourself by how far you got into each question rather than by right and wrong. OMPT-F rewards partial progress poorly, so a question where you had the right method and stopped two lines early is the most useful thing on the paper. Work out why you stopped.
Where generation 2 sits in the OMPT-F line
Three OMPT-F papers exist, generations 1 to 3, each with its own questions. Generation 2 is the middle. Moving up the line lengthens the questions; moving down shortens them without dropping any chapter.

Somewhat easier than the real exam. Generation 2 sits below generation 3, the exam-level OMPT-F set, mainly in how many transformations a single question expects before the differentiation itself begins.
What kind of questions are on the OMPT-F test?
