Generation 1 is the first set in the OMPT-G line and the gentlest. Its 26 questions sample all 119 topics, so it covers sequences and series, both geometry chapters, mechanics and chemistry rather than concentrating anywhere. That breadth is the point on a test with such mixed subject matter.

Who generation 1 is for
A good place to begin, especially if your physics or chemistry is weaker than your maths or you last studied them for a school exam. It also suits applicants who are unsure whether OMPT-G is the right test for their programme at all.
How to work through generation 1
No clock the first time. Do the chemistry and mechanics questions with your notes open if you need to, and record which topics you had to look up. Those are the ones to read properly before you attempt generation 2, where the same ideas arrive combined.

How difficult is generation 1 of OMPT-G?
This is the easiest of the three OMPT-G sets. Generation 1 asks one idea per question and covers the whole syllabus, including physics and chemistry, so it works as a survey. Generation 3 is the set calibrated to exam difficulty.
